Whitehaven Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places Inventory and has been supported by the Maryland Historic Trust and Preservation Maryland repeatedly over the years.
Whitehaven Heritage Association is also the recent recipient of a $5000 matching grant from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore helped replace the schoolhouse roof.
