Take a ride into history when you cross the Wicomico River on this three-car ferry.
The first ferry began operating in 1688, and the present ferry is thought to be the oldest continuously operating in the United States.
WI-144 Whitehaven Historic District
The Wicomico County Department of Public Works operates and maintains the Whitehaven Ferry free of charge. The ferry crosses between the quaint town of Whitehaven in Wicomico County and the Mount Vernon area of Somerset County.
March 1st to May 15th 7am - 6pm
May 16th to September 15th 7am - 7pm
September 16th to October 31st 7am - 6pm
November 1st to February 28th 7am - 5:30pm
Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
Open depending on high and low tides.
